ACT: Man arrested after murder in Canberra flat =2

Det Supt Mcdonald said the alleged offender, also aged in his mid-fifties, was initially
taken to hospital after the incident at the flats, but was released from hospital and
is now in police custody.

He said both the victim and the accused were residents in the flats.

He could not say what injuries the dead man had sustained, saying this was a matter
for a post-mortem examination.

"I wouldn't like the pre-empt any of the findings of that examination," he said.

"We are undertaking forensic examination of the scene and it would be inappropriate
for me to make any comments in relation to that examination."
